Technology Overview
Touch Screen Technology
Compare touch technologies, bonding methods and cover glass options for your application. It exists so a buyer who is still choosing a technology can see the map before reading a single category page in depth.
The three technology lines
Capacitive touch, including projected capacitive (PCAP) and CTP, senses touch through an electrostatic field and is the usual choice where a light touch and gestures matter. TFT LCD touch pairs a liquid-crystal display with a touch surface and is the usual choice where the display and the touch control are specified together. Industrial lines take either technology and add the environment requirements: gloves, moisture, dust and panel mounting.

The two processes and the cover glass
Bonding joins the layers: full lamination bonds across the whole surface and removes the air gap, while frame lamination bonds only at the edges and keeps the process simpler. Cover glass protects the sensor and sets the look: shapes from round to irregular, and AG, AR and AF optical treatments that control glare, reflections and fingerprints. The bonding guide and the cover glass guide cover both topics as selection questions.
What the company website states about thick cover glass
The company website states that its touch screens support normal touch operation under cover glass up to 20mm thick in tempered glass, or up to 15mm thick in acrylic.
What to confirm before ordering
Please confirm the technology line, the bonding method, the cover glass shape and treatment, the controller interface and the operating environment. Please also confirm the minimum order quantity and the delivery schedule before payment. Certificates available upon request.
